The Long-Run

Have you had the chance to visit South Mulberry Street recently? You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the remarkable transformations that have taken place!

As professionals in the field of community development, we constantly remind ourselves that our work is a long-term commitment—a marathon, if you will, rather than a sprint.

The impact of a Habitat for Humanity home extends beyond the lives of the families we partner with; it also has a positive effect on the entire neighborhood. Through our focused efforts, in partnership with funders, other organizations and residents, we have witnessed an increase in property value, a decrease in vacancy rates, and the arrival of new families who take pride in their community.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the City of Muncie for their invaluable support in funding Habitat’s developments and facilitating the demolition of unsafe houses. These initiatives have been made possible through the generous contributions from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Indiana Housing Community Development Authority, respectively.

To all those dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our city, we present these pictures as tangible evidence that our collective small steps have the power to bring about significant change over time.

Take heart and be encouraged today!

Thank you to all of our 2022-2023 Housing Funders!
